Tonight marks my most memorable day as a vocal teacher. I was given an opportunity and privilege to be with 65 students, to spend time with them and to come up with something to share with them. I spent the entire week night after night dwelling on what I should share and what can i impart and inspire. I decided to choose Friendship.

Friendship is simple; yet made complex by the varieties of personalities of human.
It is of no tangible value; yet without it, we become of no value.

I also decided to show a video clip of JJ's concert in taipei. It was a really touching concert where he shared about his struggles as an artiste. Spent some time editing the 2 hour long video to a simple 19 min clip. Also shared with JJ that I am going to show it to the students.

I feel that music represents love, joy, honesty, emotions, reflections, liberty, freedom, relationships, dreams, ideas, hopes. But what about those chosen to represent and to express it? What started as a pure and simple dream and ambition should not be distorted into something scheming, unfriendly and hostile. Bitterness is nothing but destruction to oneself and to others.

As I prepare my sharing, my mind just got reminded of all the relationships I have bridged; and burned; in my walk of music. Classmates, teachers, friends who have changed from well-intent persons into self-seeking machines, forsaking the need for love deep down and thus destroying the love and friendship to and from people around them.

At the same time, I am also reminded of those who have given many shoulders to stand upon,and wings to soar. One of which is Nicole. Her love for her students, her life given and poured out to others.

I believe in a generation of singers who will change the music industry by their values in love.
I believe in a generation of singers who will rise above their own desires.
I believe in a generation of singers who will represent music with the right prespective.
I believe in a generation of singers who will change the way of the industry.
I believe in a generation of singers who will leave a legacy of love, hope and trust.
I believe in a generation of singers that will change the world.

I believe in you, my students, to be that generation. This is my dream for my life.

Nicole's wake and cremation

This afternoon was Nicole cremation service. It has been very sad the last few days at the wake, Mon Sisong and many others did a music tribute to Nicole. Tue our church did a service for her, with special item by the choir-Amazing Grace and Carmen, Nicole's daughter also sang her fave song- Vincent.

Today at the cremation service, a couple of people including Yanzi shared with us the memories of Nicole and how she was such a blessing and joy to the people around her. We applauded for such strength and beauty Nicole displayed.

Goodbye Nicole for now and see u in heaven in time to come.

A tribute to Nicole 黎珈仪

Nicole Lai has passed away last Sat. A greatly respected and beloved vocal teacher I have known since my days at LWS for 7years, she never fails to smile everytime I see her. She indeed brightens up every room she steps in; bring hope, joy and love to everyone around her.

Having the privilege to have had lessons with her and to also teach alongside with her at OB, I am greatly saddened by her departure.. She will always be remembered by many of us in the music industry. We love you Nicole.

孙燕姿的歌唱老师，本地歌手、知名和音天使黎珈仪（Nicole Lai )，昨午（9月6日）因癌症逝世，得年34岁。

黎珈仪去世的消息在娱乐圈传开，不少朋友都深感悲痛，孙燕姿更是伤心痛哭。
　　
孙燕姿、李伟菘、偲菘、杨珺喨、王宝亿以及伟菘音乐学院的许多朋友，都在Nicole危急的这几天，纷纷赶往医院看她，也在她逝世后，马上集合一起，协助她的家人帮忙处理Nicole的身后事。
　　
Nicole是在去年9月发现罹患皮肤癌，并动了切除手术，但癌症在今年2月复发。虽然生病，但她一直非常乐观和积极地对抗病魔，
　　
Nicole自认属“乐天派”，她之前接受访问时说，“开始知道的时候，情绪难免会受影响，但只难过了一个多星期，之后心情就平复了；反而是身边的人很担心，一直叫我要
positive面对。”
　　
孙燕姿出道前，更曾是Nicole的“徒弟”，Nicole吐露，两人在李伟菘音乐课认识的，10年来一直是很好的朋友。她说：“她的台湾和新加坡的演唱会，我都当她的和音。记得认识她的时候，是她刚进来音乐学校上课，之后签约当了歌手，我那时是歌唱老师，就教了她几堂课。”

多年来，Nicole一直许多歌手灌唱时的和音歌手，也是许多歌手演唱会上的和音歌手，是本地知名的和音天使，而许多歌手成名的歌曲的Demo（未灌成唱片的推荐歌曲带子）的演唱歌手。

Nicole也拥有超过12年的音乐教学经验，更唱过多首很广为流传的广告歌曲。

Nicole的名字，在许多歌唱艺人里，是非常熟悉的，她和郭富城、蔡依林、梁咏琪、郑秀文、张信哲、莫文尉、那英等合作过，孙燕姿更是她的多年的好朋友兼合作伙伴。　　

花尽毕生储蓄 4月出版单曲

多年来为歌手作嫁衣裳，醉心音乐歌唱的Nicole，为一圆自己的歌手梦，在今年4月间，耗尽毕生储蓄，出版了个人单曲专辑《你我的自由》。

但让她非常遗憾的是，她的专辑出版时，发现公司(M5 Royal Music) 未全力配合，甚至她的专辑也未能全面发行，让她非常伤心。

黎珈仪的遗体,目前停柩在金殿路(Kim Tiam Road)大牌129A,订于星期三出殡。

Profile of Nicole:
Nicole is a well sought-after vocalist with more than 9 years of experience in vocal coaching. She has given vocal training to Stefanie Sun Yanzi, Huang Yida, Kelly Poon, Celest Chong, Niki Wu, Siao Su Shen as well as to Mediacorp artistes such as Zoe Tay, Tay Ping Hui, Christopher Lee and Constance Song.

As a prolific performer, Nicole has performed as backup vocalist on album recordings for artistes such as Stefanie Sun Yanzi, Gigi Leung, Sammi Cheng, Aaron Kwok and Jolin Tsai; she has also performed 'live' in concerts as backup vocalist for Stefanie Sun Yanzi, Julia Peng and Eric Moo.

Nicole studied vocals in Los Angeles under Jodi Sellards, who has taught Mariah Carey, David Tao, Zhang Hui Mei and Alex To. Also a songwriter enthusiast, Nicole had one of her songs published in Stefanie Sun’s album. In 2003's XinYao competition, Nicole emerged as the champion in the vocal performance category and as the first runner-up in the composing category.

She has made appearances as one of the judges for Channel 8's weekend variety show, PSC Nite 2005. Her other credits include vocal work for commercial jingles for McDonald's, Canon, Slimwater, Knife Oil and many more.

Young and beautiful, this sultry singer has a voice that sends thousand hearts melting. She has done many jingles including those of Hazeline Snow and Singapore Airlines. She is also the personal vocal trainer of many local & overseas celebrities. Having successfully performed for many Dinner & Dances, Family Days and Town Council Events, Nicole has proven to be popular with all mix of crowd as she is down to earth and interacts actively with them. Her interactive repertoire ranges from oldies to contemporary songs, in various languages.
