It's always interesting that whenever we hear a specific voice on the radio, we tend to create a sub-conscious assumption of how the person will appear in real life. We also tend to always associate big and depth voices with larger body-sized singers. However, is that really true?
In the animal kingdom, animals that are smaller are often gifted with a much much louder and stronger voice in order to compensate for the lack of body size to scare away predators.
While the answer to whether there is a relationship between the body size and voice remains a mystery, I found this research paper on the study of the relationship between the human voice, body size and impact of listeners. It is a interesting read.
